When someone says Tropical Fish what kind of fish are they talking about? and why?

Yes, I have seen articles where they do specify that, when they say tropical, they are talking about freshwater vs. tropical saltwater. Yes, saltwater fish are also tropical, but the reason that they use the term tropical for tropical freshwater is that saying tropical saltwater is redundant. You know that, if you just hear saltwater, it’s automatically tropical. Yes, you could just say freshwater, but then there are freshwater coldwater and freshwater tropical. So, you could say, tropical saltwater, tropical freshwater and coldwater freshwater, but using the simpler terms, coldwater, tropical and saltwater are the shortest ways with the least amount of words to get the idea across of which type of fish you’re talking about.
