for such a small tank you can get away with the bare minimum ( heater, filter, light,) you can always go with more like getting an RO tap water filter and upgrade your lighting to metal halides or VHO lights. You will need a salt water test kit to measure pH nitrate nitrite and amonia. and you will need a hydrometer to measure the salt content in you water. you may want to put some live rock in your tank the rule of thumb is 1 lb of live rock to every gallon of water. the only thing elese is make sure the fish you get for your 10 gallon tank will be able to remain in a 10 gallon tank. most fish youll buy will be small but they grow and you wil soon need a larger tank so do some research befor adding any fish. Good luck
Oh and be careful if the guy at the store wants to sell you damsels they are very aggressive but hardy so a lot of people say its a good beginer fish to help you tank begin the nitrogen cycle. the problem with damsels is they are so aggressive you wont be able to add other fish afterwards. So a good fish to start would be some green chromis they are less agressive towards other tank mates you will add in the future. stay away from the domino or three stripe damsels. Other people may disagree but i always had problems with aggressive damsels.
